Bizzy’s passion for music production and the turntables originated in Philadelphia, starting his journey towards creating a signature sound heard all over the globe for over the last two decades. Bizzy has been around music all of his life. Born as Mark-Keith Smith of Greencastle PA. He is the son of legendary musician Dwight Smith, best known as a leading swing drummer from the 1950's and 60's band "The Archers", Bizzy was immediately influenced by the beats and music surrounding his childhood. Living a life immersed in music, Bizzy started MC’ing and performing as a hype man at the age of 15 for clubs in Pennsylvania and Maryland. His love of DJ’ing took shape while watching such iconic artists as QuickSilva, Cee-Lo, DJ Milk and Shmoove at parties in D.C. and Baltimore and such DJ’s as Jazzy Jeff, Jay-ski, Excel, Touch Tone, Adam Bomb, and Ghost in Philadelphia. From this early exposure, Bizzy decided it was his calling to take the lessons of music and drumming learned from his dad and mix it with what he loved most ...hip-hop.
“I want to make all types of music,” Bizzy said. “I want to create music that educates, music that makes people move their feet, music that makes people remember, music that makes people forget and above all music that makes people have FUN.”
Bizzy spent 15 years in Los Angeles Ca., where he nurtured his passion for spinning and producing. Biz has unleashed a signature sound for some of the LA's hottest celebrity events and held residencies at all types of clubs and venues. Bizzy’s client list includes several major Hollywood studios such as Warner Bros., Sony, Paramount, Open Road, Disney as well as such popular culture leaders as the National Academy of Recording and Arts, Clear Channel, Kenneth Cole, Details Magazine, Def Jam Records, Sprint, Coke, Redbull, Patron, Porsche, and Nike. In addition to performing for an extensive celebrity guest list, his presence has also rocked such legendary clubs as Greystone, Bootsy Bellows, Avalon, Emerson, Sayers Club, Greenhouse, LAX, Hyde, Catch, Finale, MGM, and many more.
“Music is the creative outlet I have used to express my art to the world,” Bizzy concluded. “DJ’ng is the way that I have decided to reach out to my generation as well as the ones before and after and joining us all together by cuts, scratches, and mixes, using bass lines, and beats from every genre and era.”
Bizzy has toured with Pittsburgh Slim (Strict Flow/Camp Lo) and Juicy J (Taylor Gang/3-6 Mafia). Bizzy performed at The Amazing Spider-Man 2 official premiere party, opening and closing for Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys and Hans Zimmer. Bizzy's list of movie premieres and red carpets that he has performed at is extensive. Biz has opened for Prince, Common, Estelle, and Stevie Wonder at The Sayers Club in Hollywood Ca where he is a resident DJ playing with the likes of musicians Keith Harris, The Regiment Horns, and Tony Royster.
Currently, Bizzy has a DJ duo with Tim Nice called "Macédoine" (live remixing over electronic records).
Bizzy is currently signed to L3V3L Records and producing records with his label mate DVRKO. Bizzy, DVRKO, and Mike Taylor recently released "LEVELS". Bizzy's ep "Primary Colors" is slated for a late July 2022 release. Bizzy's music has recently been played at EDC and on Sirius XM.
